A MEDIEVAL FANTASY FILM

Mir Brustenga's latest project follows Leorad, a disgraced warrior who once wielded legendary power and must overcome his own fear by sacrificing his only chance at redemption to save his friend Voren from a duel to death. â€‹

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

Ironlord is the project I set up to make out of a deep love for medieval fantasy—and a frustration with how little of it truly exists on screen today. Beyond a few major titles, the genre is largely underserved, especially in short film form, where most projects feel either outdated, purely experimental, or limited by production value. There’s a clear gap between the demand for grounded, cinematic fantasy and what is currently being offered, and this project is my attempt to help bridge that gap.

At its core, Ironlord isn't just a story about swords or duels, but failure, fear, and the quiet courage it takes to stand back up. Leorad is a man who has already lost it all and lives in avoidance, convincing himself that survival is enough. His journey is about confronting that lie. I wanted to explore the idea that true strength doesn’t come from power, status, or even victory, but from the willingness to act when it matters most, especially when you’re afraid.

In a time where it’s easy to feel cynical or stuck, this story is ultimately about hope—about remembering that we can be better than who we’ve become. That even after failure, even after losing everything, there is still a choice to step forward and do the right thing. If the film resonates, it’s not because of the world or the weapons, but because of that simple, human truth.
