MIR BRUSTENGA | DIRECTOR
AND CINEMATOGRAPHER

Born in Barcelona, I’ve been making films since age 14. I’ve worked on over 50 film crews and written and directed more than a dozen short films, several of which having received festival recognition, including El Mago que se Olvidó de Hablar, The Creature, and Por los Dos (BARCIFF, TNFF, MASS IFF, FABA Films, List-Off). I currently study Media Arts Production at Emerson College School of Film, ranked #6 best film schools in the U.S. (The Hollywood Reporter, 2025). Here, I work at the Equipment Distribution Center, where I was promoted from Operations Assistant to Quality Control Specialist.

I've led crews of over 20 people and directed photography on BA and BFA capstone films as well as an MBA for Harvard University and several music videos, including a Berklee College musician. I've worked with camera systems such as the ARRI Alexa 35, Mini, and XT, RED Komodo 6K, Sony FX3/6, Blackmagic 6K Pro, and Canon C70, and lenses including Cooke Mini S4, Zeiss Milvus and Nano Prime, Atlas Orion, Laowa Proteus, Blazar Remus, and Sirui Venus anamorphics. I’m also familiar with Matthews car rigs, DJI drones, Dana and Fischer dollies, and stabilization systems such as the Steadicam, Glidecam, Ronin, and Easyrig.

I’m passionate about visual storytelling and the collaborative nature of filmmaking, with a focus on stories that explore human connection, identity, and the emotions that shape who we are. My widespread experience across departments—from writing, directing, and producing to camera, lighting, sound, editing, VFX, and even some acting—gives me a holistic, story-first approach grounded in collaboration and intentionality. If my work resonates with you, I’d love to connect and create something new together.
